Problems with movement and physical complaints can have a major impact on your daily life and in sports. This can interfere with mental and physical well-being. An osteopath works to target the complaints using a holistic treatment method. Using mobilisations, manipulations and gentle techniques, movement losses are remedied to regain the original function of the area. An osteopath looks at the whole body and the interrelationship of its various parts and functions. Osteopathy is for any age, both for active complaints and the prevention of them. See what osteopathy can do for you below.
My name is Vincent van Dorp and through Osteopathy van Dorp, I want to communicate my vision of health and vitality. I have been working in physiotherapy for seven years. The combination of free movement, the human body and working with people has always interested me. I completed the four-year master in osteopathy at the IAO (International Academy of Osteopathy) in Zeist and Antwerp. During the master, I developed a new perspective and method on treating health. With great passion for my profession, I treat people young and old every day to get and keep them as vital as possible.
The movement system
Complaints of the spine and extremities, joints, muscles and tendons. Problems caused by posture or movement chains.
Abdominal and digestive complaints
Pain in the abdominal region and/or problems with digestion and bowel movements. Symptoms after illness, (abdominal) surgery or a long-term stressful lifestyle.
Pelvic issues
Complaints of the pelvic region or organ functions. Problems with urination, defecation, the prostate, the uterus and postnatal symptoms. These symptoms are often accompanied by complaints of the pelvis, tailbone, hip or back.
Head, neck and jaw complaints
Headaches, complaints after (head) trauma and cognitive impairments. Problems with eating/chewing, swallowing or the ENT area.
Cardiovascular problems
Obstruction in activities, heart/lung problems, tightness of the chest or breathing problems.
Hormonal imbalance, stress and inflammation
Physical and mental complaints related to hormonal balance, an (over)active nervous system or burnout. Recurrent inflammation locally or totally.
In babies and children, symptoms can arise due to various factors such as pregnancy, childbirth or illness.
Treatment is tailored specifically to your child. Osteopathy for babies and children works through safe and gentle techniques without health risks for your child. These techniques are specifically tailored to little bodies and help relieve complaints and support physical processes. Osteopathy has great results in common complaints in newborns and children that are not treated or under-treated elsewhere in child care.
Personally, I think every child deserves a good start. There is no greater transition in life than that of a child born. Childbirth often involves various aids such as medication, a vacuum pump, caesarean section or the physical strain on the head and body. These factors can cause invisible but palpable stresses on your baby, which are expressed in crying, cramps and general restlessness. Using gentle safe techniques, the osteopath can feel tensions in the different parts of the body and head, and using the same approach, these tensions can be treated. Relaxation in the body and head means room for development and growth.
Intake
Through a comprehensive anamnesis, we identify your complaints and symptoms. Previous complaints or recent events may influence your current complaint. Problems with movement may be related to a blocked joint or a malfunctioning organ.
Examination
During the examination, general mobility and specific areas of the body are tested to form the final diagnosis. The mobility of joints, connective tissue surfaces and organs give a lot of information about the deeper cause of the complaint.
Treatment
Treatment is tailored specifically to you, as each complaint consists of several personal factors. Through osteopathic manual techniques, blockages are lifted and physical balance is restored.
